Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, who was suspended indefinitely by the NBA for repeated vicious fouls, has been allowed to return to the team to participate in training and is expected to return to the court in a week.
Before his return, Green talked about his experience during this period on the Podcast program. Reflecting on his emotional journey, he especially apologized to team leader Stephen Curry.
Green said: “During this process, one thing really hurt me. I saw Stephen A. Smith on TV saying, ‘Green’s **** behavior proves that Curry is a poor leader.’ That really hurt me.” It pissed me off and shocked me.”
Since being selected by the Warriors in the 2012 draft, Green has been playing side by side with Curry, who joined the team three years before him.
The two have also won 4 championships together. For his actions, Curry has been criticized.
Green felt particularly uncomfortable and apologized to him in particular. Green said: “Kerry was put on trial because of me, so I must publicly apologize to him.
I sincerely apologize to Corey for what I did. I really feel sorry for him.”
I blame myself very much, and I am also very grateful to Corey during this period. We chatted every day and cared about each other. He told me, ‘I will always be here to accompany you and help you go through all this.’”
Green has made dangerous moves against Rudy Gobert of the Timberwolves and Jusuf Nurkic of the Suns this season, and has been expelled three times.
He was suspended indefinitely by the league and the team. Only after receiving psychological counseling and professional certification can you return to the court.
So far, Green has missed 13 games, and the Warriors have recorded 7 wins and 6 losses.
Head coach Steve Kerr said in a recent interview that all teammates are happy to see Green back and the team atmosphere is great. However, Green’s clear return date is still uncertain.
