Even before his arrival in the NBA, Victor Wembanyama already saw himself considered as a generational prospect, and therefore close to illustrious players. 

This has particularly been the case in recent hours with Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Sometimes overused, the term “generational” can be used indiscriminately in the NBA sphere.

Many players have in fact inherited this label without really deserving it in recent years. All that remains is to hope that Victor Wembanyama will be able to justify it.

Announced as a potential GOAT before his draft, he has so far managed to maintain this trajectory according to most experts.

Thanks to his averages of 20.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.4 blocks per game, Wembanyama is destined for a coronation as Rookie of the Year.

A first step in his quest for the summits which could, ultimately, see him confronted with Michael Jordan and other LeBron James in the historical rankings.

The influential NBA Retweet account has already put the three men in opposition recently:

A fairly open debate which would imply that MJ, LeBron and Wemby are part of the same Draft class.

However, while Internet users already know what they can expect by attracting the first two mentioned in their nets, the young French interior is only just starting out in the league. I

t is therefore difficult to favor it, even if some have been optimistic about it in view of this question:

The fact that this question is even being asked while Wemby is still in his rookie season speaks volumes.

On the other hand, I think it is too early to really answer it.

Victor Wembanyama has never hidden it: he seeks to become the best player in history.
