Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s biographies on the official Royal Family website have been combined and dramatically shortened – with their joint entry put beside Prince Andrew’s.

Even since stepping down as senior royals at the beginning of 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had separate pages telling their life stories on the site.

But that changed yesterday, when both of the entries briefly disappeared entirely before reappearing together.

Their page now begins: ‘As announced in January 2020, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped back as working members of The Royal Family.’

As recently as Monday morning, the fact the couple were no longer senior royals was included within a large amount of text about their lives and work.

A full 14-paragraph page about Meghan’s support for various charities has been removed, replaced with a single sentence listing some of the organisations she became a patron of while she served as a royal.

Harry gets a total of five paragraphs in the new joint biography – a huge reduction from his previous multi-page entry.

The couple are now found at the bottom of the site beside King Charles’s disgraced brother Prince Andrew.

Buckingham Palace announced the Duke of York would step down from royal duties in January 2022, following revelations about his friendship with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and a disastrous interview with Newsnight.

His biography on the Royal Family site does not go into the details of his dramatic fall from grace, simply including a link to the tweet that announced his expulsion from the fold.

Even so, his entry goes into considerably more detail than Harry’s.

Last month, the Sussexes rebranded their website using their official titles rather than their Archewell business.

The new Sussex.com features in-depth biographies of both Harry and Meghan, in which he is described as a ‘a humanitarian, military veteran, mental health advocate, and environmental campaigner’ and she is called a ‘feminist and champion of human rights and gender equity’.
