Weightlifter Emily Campbell was this Trisha Goddard and Richard Madeley’s guest on GMB this Thursday and was clearly eager to be interviewed, appearing ahead of time.
Emily Campbell left the Good Morning Britain studio in stitches as she walked on to the set of the programme before she was due to appear.
The Olympic athlete, 30, known as the most successful British weightlifter of modern times, was due to appear on the ITV breakfast show after an ad break, with TV stars Trisha Goddard, Richard Madeley and Richard Arnold teasing her upcoming interview. She could be seen proudly walking to the studio from backstage as the camera followed her straight on to the set where she joined the presenters, who weren’t expecting her until much later in the show.
Emily Campbell stunned the trio and, realising her mistake, stopped her trajectory and stood awkwardly in a dim corner of the studio as they awkwardly greeted her, although Trisha was left in a fit of laughter that could be heard before the show was interrupted before an ad break.

This comes after Trisha launched on a fiery rant targeting Domino’s Pizza as she compared Tommy Fury and Molly Mae Hague to King Charles III and Lady Diana as she ran through the newest showbiz headlines and discussed the Love Island stars’ recent split with her co-stars, moments before Emily’s blunder.
Richard Arnold was first detailing the breakup as he ran through the latest showbiz headlines for the day and he was amused when he mentioned that Molly-Mae and Tommy’s split triggered a wave of reactions, notably online.
A social media post shared on Domino’s Twitter account notably reads: “Everyone at Domino’s joins the nation in mourning the break-up of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury’s relationship. Our thoughts and condolences are with them at this time.” But for Trisha, this was a way for the company to make money “out of somebody’s misery.”
“This goes to show the impact over the last five years and they didn’t even win the show,” Richard Arnold first said in reference to Molly-Mae and Tommy’s second place on the ITV2 series. “Well, I don’t know whether it’s a bad impact or money-making, people making money out of somebody’s misery. I’m sorry, businesses are commenting, it’s about ‘how many more people can we pull into our website?'”, Trisha replied, dubbing the technique “clickbait.”
She added: “But there’s a real family and there’s real people here so my reaction was more about the coverage”, before trailing off: “Charles and Diana…” Several seconds of silence ensued, leaving Richard to conclude: “we’re respecting their privacy (…) as we wish them all the very best.”
This comes after GMB star and regular presenter Kate Garraway left her hosting duties to Trisha, who teased her upcoming guest presenting appearance last week, as she discussed her terminal cancer diagnosis. In fronting the programme this week, Trisha has made history by becoming the first Black woman to host the show in its history.
