This week, Adam Henson and Charlotte Smith presented Countryfile from the Royal Welsh Show and Adam had to be taught a lesson by one of the show’s famous attendees.
Countryfile’s Adam Henson was left humbled when a famous guest farmer corrected him at the Royal Welsh Show.
Adam was with his co-presenter Charlotte Smith for this Sunday’s edition of the BBC’s popular agricultural programme.
After checking out prize bulls and freshly-sheered sheep, the host took a break at the show’s pub (aptly called ‘The Baa’) for a drink.
Adam was chatting to famous farmer Gareth Wyn Jones with his friends Derek Parry and Gwynn Jones at the event when the somewhat awkward moment occurred.
The presenter asked why the annual event’s social element was so important, and Gareth explained: “There’s a saying in Welsh: ‘Rhoi’r byd yn ei le’.”

Countryfile guest snaps back at Adam Henson ‘I beg to differ’
.
Adam was a little nonplussed so Gareth translated: “Put the world to rights.
“So that’s what a lot of the farmers will be doing here, having that conversation.”
The presenter then wondered how many Royal Welsh guests actually knew there was a bar at the event where patrons could grab a drink and sit down.
“And not many people would know that there’s a bar here for all the teams that are showing their animals,” he assumed.
Adam chatted to some well-known farmers in ‘The Baa’
But Gareth quickly revealed the host was dead wrong as he snapped back: “I beg to differ!”
Adam laughed as the farmer continued: “You come in here in about an hour – how many people?”
Fellow farmer Derek chimed in: “It’s for everybody, this. Everybody knows.”
And Gwynn added: “There are all kinds of people here.”
Adam was also more than a little gobsmacked when he ran across a hen party celebrating at the same bar.
Gareth Wyn Jones swiftly corrects Adam’s claim the bar is a mystery to some guests
“This is the hen party!” he exclaimed, nodding as the group of ladies answered enthusiastically.
“We come here every year,” said the bride-to-be Siân Williams. “We’re all from a farming community so it just makes sense that we’re here for the day.”
The group then descended into giggles when Adam asked if they had all met their partners at the Royal Welsh and Siân confirmed, “Most of them, yes!”
Adam then got even more raucous laughter when he asked if his guest Gareth was a “Welsh heartthrob”.
“Mixed reviews!” he remarked when none of the ladies gave a solid answer before he headed off to join the farmers.
