Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard returned from their summer break on Monday and they were thrilled to be back to front This Morning
Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard confirmed Fern Britton would be returning to This Morning.
After the ad break, the duo opened the segment by announcing they had some “exciting news” for viewers at home.
“Hello and welcome back, we have got some exciting news for you,” Ben beamed as Cat chipped in: “Really exciting.”
As they played a clip, fans were thrilled to see that former This Morning host Fern was making her comeback.
As the clip played, Cat said in a voiceover: “Welcome to the new season of This Morning and a new season with new adventures.”
The promo video showed a range of new items including a new fashion and antique segment.
Cat went on: “And one of those adventures sees the return of an old friend.”
“Is this the piece to camera?” Fern could be seen asking as she sipped a cup of tea. However, she quickly realised they were filming and said: “Oh sorry!”
“Yes, it is hats off to Fern as she explores the Isles of Britain,” Cat added.
“Wow, this is a million-dollar view,” Fern could be heard saying as the clip came to an end.
Fern became a full-time presenter on This Morning in 1999 and hosted the show alongside Phillip Schofield. She left 10 years later and was replaced by Holly Willoughby.
However, after Phillip and Holly both left the show last year, they were replaced by a rotation of presenters before it was finally confirmed Ben and Cat would take their place permanently.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary also replaced Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on the Friday This Morning slot.
Don’t MissCat and Ben made a return to This Morning on Monday after taking a long summer break. At the beginning of the show, the duo discussed their summer plans.
It is lovely to be back, did you have a nice summer? You look nice and tanned,” Ben complimented Cat.
“I had a really nice time,” Cat told her co-host before explaining: “Just hung out with the family. We went on holiday for a bit, and then we’re like, we’re all having such a nice time. shall we stay? How was yours? the boy is back, Annie must be so happy?”
Sharing an insight into his family life, Ben admitted: “Sam came home from travelling, which was very, very emotional. He’s been away for seven and a half months, off to university next week, back to school for lots of people today as well.”
