It’s hard to choose between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi unless you’ve played with both of them.

Only a few players can say that they have shared a dressing room with both footballing greats and, therefore, can pick between them.

Miralem Pjanic is one such player, and he recently shared his thoughts on who was better to play alongside.

As noted SportsKeeda, Pjanic said that he preferred playing with Ronaldo over Messi.

Pjanic featured in 178 games for Juventus, and played 77 of those games alongside Ronaldo between 2018 and 2020, Transfermarkt noted.

“I talk a lot with Cristiano Ronaldo. I have many memories with him, he is a great footballer. He’s the best I’ve ever played with. He is among the two, three strongest players in history,” Pjanic said.

He then added that it was hard to pick between Ronaldo and Messi, but that he knew who he had more fun with.

“I was lucky enough to play with Ronaldo and Messi, and it’s hard to say who is stronger. However, I had more fun with Ronaldo than Messi,” Pjanic added.

Pjanic’s time alongside Messi

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international got to play alongside Messi at Barcelona, but it paled in comparison to his time with Ronaldo at Juventus.

He only made 30 appearances for the Blaugrana and made just 13 starts for the team. He didn’t win any trophies with the Spanish side but won three trophies, including two Serie A titles, with the Italian side.

In total, there are 22 footballers who played alongside both Ronaldo and Messi.

As noted by Give Me Sport, some of the big names who have played with both men included Angel di Maria, Deco, Gerard Pique and Carlos Tevez.
