Jalen Green continues to find his offensive groove lately as he exploded for 37 points against the Washington Wizards on Thursday night. Among those buckets, however, none are as pretty as this transition three late in the third quarter.

The Houston Rockets shooting guard pulled off a behind-the-back move that dropped Jared Butler. He then flung a deep trey from the top of the key over two defenders and looked away before the shot went in.

Green’s minutes fluctuated all season because of inconsistent play. He had a rough December and February, shooting 37 percent from the floor in those months.

However, when March came around, the 22-year-old came alive. In six games this month, he is averaging 22.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in over 46 percent shooting. His offensive flurry is absolutely needed after the severe ankle sprain sustained by Alperen Sengun a few days ago. He finished last night’s contest with a season-high 37 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

The Rockets have won six out of their last seven games and four in a row. They are 3.5 games behind the final Play-In spot but are peaking at the right time. That said, making a playoff push without their best player in Sengun will be tough.

Green’s recent showing is proof of what he could be. The high-flyer is a showman who can drop people and buckets with jaw-dropping moves. That look-away three is highly reminiscent of Golden State’s Stephen Curry, while the ankle breaker reminded Rockets fans of the James Harden days.
