After cracking off three straight wins, the Golden State Warriors had one last stop on their five-game road swing on Sunday against 2023 No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
While the Warriors had the chance to increase their win streak to four consecutive victories, Wembanyama and the Spurs didn’t make things easy on Sunday night.
The Spurs jumped on the ice-cold Warriors out of the gate, cruising to an eight-point lead at halftime.
However, a strong third-quarter led by Stephen Curry and Draymond Green put the Warriors in control.
Green and Curry combined for 20 points as the Warriors outscored the Spurs 37-21 in the third quarter.
Despite the Warriors taking commanding lead heading into the fourth quarter, Wembanyama and the Spurs weren’t done.
Wembanyama tallied 18 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to put pressure on the Warriors.
Yet, it wasn’t enough for a late comeback against Curry, Green, and the Warriors as they secured their fourth consecutive win to close their road trip, 117-113.
While Curry led the Warriors’ offense with 33 points, Draymond Green stuffed the box score.
Green recorded 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field with 11 assists, six steals, six rebounds and a block in 31 minutes.
Following their win on Sunday evening, the NBA community on Twitter weighed-in with different responses.

This road trip was a microcosm of the Draymond Green experience. He doesn’t have it all the time, but his A game is still incredibly impactful. Looking forward to seeing him against a much-improved Mavericks squad

Final: Warriors 117, Spurs 113
-Warriors (40-34) 6 over .500 1st time this season
-Second-half Steph-Draymond magic
-37-21 Q3 pivotal
-Curry 33, Green 21 and impact defense
-Move 2 games up on Rockets— Monte Poole (@MontePooleNBCS) April 1, 2024
The Warriors win four straight to complete a 4-1 road trip. They are now two games clear of the the Rockets for the 10th seed (basically three because of the tiebreaker). Houston lost in Dallas today. Both teams have eight games left.

Mega Draymond Green performance in San Antonio today. He had 21-11-6 plus six steals. Scored a bunch in 3Q to put Warriors up and just sealed the win in final minute with offensive rebound/kickout for Klay 3 and box out/forced rebounding foul on Wembanyama with 4 seconds left.
