As the 2023-24 season progresses, the gap between Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren has continued to increase.

The Frenchman has most likely closed the case in the race for Rookie of the Year, especially if we rely on one statistic in particular.

The first two months of the season belonged to Chet Holmgren, voted best rookie in the West in November and December.

But after that, it was a real carnage that Victor Wembanyama undertook on the floors.

Freed from his physical concerns, repositioned for good as a pivot and now acclimated to the NBA game, the Frenchman simply dominated the rest of the campaign within his vintage.

As a result, nothing seems to be able to prevent him from being elected ROY at the end of the financial year.

Holmgren’s much superior collective record with OKC will not be enough, especially since the V managed its clashes with its rival rather well apart from an insipid first match. In fact, he even made the Thunder pivot his favorite victim:
