It was this Monday evening that the NBA revealed the winner of the rookie of the year title.

Victor Wembanyama won the trophy without any surprises, but his domination over Chet Holmgren confirmed the impressions of the season.

While the second round of the playoffs began for the teams, the NBA took a short break this Monday evening to confirm the winner of the rookie of the year title.

Unsurprisingly, it was Victor Wembanyama who won ahead of Chet Holmgren and Brandon Miller. Jaime Jaquez Jr, Brandin Podziemski and Derek Lively II finished behind.

Victor Wembanyama wins the rookie of the year award for 2023-24. First player in league history to reach 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, 250 assists, 250 blocks and 100 three-pointers in a season.

Wembanyama too strong for the competition

But what we will ultimately remember is the votes of the journalists for this trophy.

The NBA quickly revealed the details and it turns out that Wembanyama collected all the first places possible with 495 points in total.

Chet Holmgren took 98 votes for second place, and one for third. Wemby is therefore unanimously the rookie of the year.

Nothing could be more logical for Wembanyama, who performed like an All-Star this season, with some pretty crazy feats for a simple rookie. And this is only the beginning for the Frenchman.

so deserved

Victor Wembanyama is indeed the rookie of the year, and with style. A great reward for the Spurs player, who was far superior to the other young players of this vintage. And count on him to do even better in the future.
