REPORT: Taylor Swift “Wasn’t Happy” With The “Nasty” Things Brittany Mahomes Said About Her In Old Resurfaced Tweets

Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift set social media ablaze when they were seen cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium. They even went as far as to come up with their own dance and handshake.

The two became such good pals as Brittany is married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Taylor is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Around the time their friendship started to blossom, Mahomes was being slammed for deleting old Tweets where she bashed the “Love Story” singer Taylor Swift for her music.

One user screenshotted the Tweets before she deleted them, and shared them to social media demanding an apology from Brittany.

“You know what would be a lot more meaningful than Brittany Mahomes deleted her Taylor hate Tweets? Brittany making a public apology to Jackson [Mahomes]’s SA victim for trying to silence her,” the fan wrote alongside the deleted Tweets from Brittany.

Fast forward to after the season and we are now getting Swift’s reaction to those tweets.

“Taylor wasn’t happy,” reveals a source. “She’s used to people saying nasty things about her, but this was someone she’s welcomed into her squad.”

Life & Style’s source further added that Swift was mortified by the resurfaced tweets and quickly deleted them. Luckily, Brittany explained she was just a teenager at the time and they let the situation go.

“Brittany explained to Taylor that she was just a stupid teenager and how sorry she was,” the source says. “Taylor was very understanding and decided to just let bygones be bygones.”

The report also added that her having a sour relationship with the wife of the quarterback who is best friends with her boyfriend wouldn’t be a good idea.

“Travis and Patrick are very tight,” notes the source, “and Taylor’s not going to do anything that would put Travis in an awkward spot.”

The Chiefs are fresh off winning the Super Bowl for the second-straight season.

Brittany Mahomes has posed for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 60th anniversary issue, with the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick announcing her shoot just days before the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Mahomes, 28, shared a video of her posing on a beach in San Pedro, Belize with SI describing her as ‘unapologetically herself’ ahead of joining as a 2024 rookie for their May edition.

‘I’m truly just so humbled and still in disbelief,’ Mahomes told the publication.

‘As a girl from Tyler, Texas, who only really knew sports, never in a million years did I think I’d be in the SI Swimsuit Issue. I’m just so grateful for this opportunity.’

Mahomes has seen her fame spiral through becoming one of Taylor Swift‘s ‘besties’ since the singer starting dating Travis Kelce, one of Mahomes’ teammates at the Chiefs.

The two often sit alongside each other for Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City – they have even celebrated touchdowns with their own handshakes.

And away from the sport that brought them together, they have often dined in New York near Swift’s Manhattan townhouse.

But Mahomes is also well known for her work in soccer. She is also a former player  through her time at the University of Texas at Tyler and spent time at a team in Iceland in 2017.

She retired in 2017 and started her own workout brand, but she is also a part-owner and founder of the women’s NWSL team Kansas City Current – which Patrick also owns a stake in.

The team are opening their own purpose-build women’s soccer stadium in March, a landmark moment.

‘These women deserve to feel important and have their own facility so that they can perform at their best,’ Mahomes said.

‘I hope this sets the bar for women’s sports everywhere and other cities continue to build around women’s sports. Just like young boys get to dream of playing football at stadiums like Arrowhead, I want young girls everywhere to aspire to play at stadiums like CPKC.’

Some fans disliked her manner and the way she twirled her finger while talking to the guard in the tunnel. People on social media accused her of being on a ‘high horse’, but others disagreed and insisted she did nothing wrong.

Mahomes appeared to hit back through a seemingly deliberate thinly-veiled post on her Instagram story of a quote that said: ‘I take rumors as a compliment. The fact that you’re bringing my name onto tables I don’t sit at shows your obsession. Stay bothered.’

Patrick is bidding for his third Super Bowl victory and his team are bidding to join an elite list of teams to have won the title back-to-back.

Brittany, who is already in Vegas for the game, and Patrick met and began dating at high school and have two children together – one son and one daughter. They got married in 2022 and Kelce was one of his groomsmen.

She is currently midway through a four-date Eras Tour run in Tokyo, Japan that ends on Saturday night. But Japan is 17 hours ahead of Vegas, meaning time is on Swift’s side if she takes the journey on, as expected.
