Taylor Swift said to Travis Kelce: ‘I’ve never been so proud of anyone’… It’s really incredible to see that Travis Kelce, a man who so many people teased for thinking he could step to thee Taylor Swift, is the first man who has ever made her absolutely awestruck. 🥰
In Swifties’ wildest dreams, they never envisioned Taylor Swift back in the bleachers.
But thanks to her romance with Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, which has resulted in Taylor’s attendance at 12 games and counting—chicken tenders dipped into seemingly ranch and A-list squad in tow—that’s exactly where fans have been able to find the superstar lately.
Since the “Cruel Summer” singer’s first appearance at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 24—during which she hung out with Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, and enthusiastically cheered after he scored a touchdown—the relationship between the 34-year-old and Travis, also 34, has dominated headlines, timelines, Christmas bars, the condiment industry and the NFL’s social media, with the league even having to shake off criticism of its excessive coverage of the new celebrity couple of the moment.
Sure, speculation about Taylor’s love life is nothing new, but the level of interest in her relationship with Travis hits different, possibly because their love story began with a public declaration of interest from the athlete. But, even more surprising than Travis’ Hail Mary pass at Taylor was the notoriously private star accepting it so openly.
Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Taylor revealed in her Person of the Year interview with TIME. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
And we’re so happy to be out of the woods as Taylor and Travis’s relationship has only soared to new heights since his podcast shout-out.
Chiefs Coach Shares What Taylor Swift Baked for Travis Kelce and the Team During the Season
Andy Reid and Taylor Swift
Andy Reid has revealed which food Taylor Swift baked for her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s teammates in what the Kansas City Chiefs coach described as an effort to “fit in” with the group.
Reid, who recently coached the Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl victory in the Feb. 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers, was asked about the Swift-Kelce romance during an appearance this week on NBC Sports’ PFT Live. Co-hosts Mike Florio and Chris Simms were curious about how the attention focused on the couple impacted the Chiefs after Swift and Kelce took their relationship public.
Reid, who knew Swift and her family before the “Cruel Summer” singer began dating the Chiefs tight end, said he thinks that the way Swift immersed herself in the world of professional football became “a great escape for her.”
“She sincerely enjoys the games,” Reid said. He then revealed how Swift forged friendships with Kelce’s teammates when the cameras weren’t focused on her.
“Behind the scenes, to fit in—she didn’t even know she was doing this, I don’t think,” Reid explained. “But she likes to cook, so she made the offensive linemen these homemade Pop-Tarts.”
Reid suggested that Swift’s move turned out to be the surefire way to curry favor with the team. “It was over,” Reid said. “She knew right where to go.”
Swift and Kelce’s relationship became public last fall, right as the 2023 NFL season was heating up. Attention on their relationship increased as Swift attended Chiefs games, with cameras during televised games occasionally panning over to her box to show viewers her reactions. Attention on the couple heighten as the Chiefs advanced to the NFL playoffs and ultimately made it to Super Bowl LVIII.
When Simms asked if there has ever been a time when Reid thought the Swift effect was “too much,” Reid said he “really didn’t worry about it.” Kelce and Swift both “handled it great,” he added, and “it was never an issue.”
