Jason Kelce hails ‘awesome and genuine’ Taylor Swift and admits he just wants brother Travis to be ‘happy and enjoying life’

Jason Kelce has admitted he thinks Taylor Swift is ‘awesome’, ‘down to earth’ and a ‘genuine person’ ahead of their reunion at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on Sunday.

The pair will be at Allegiant Stadium to cheer on Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs when they take on the San Francisco 49ers.

Jason met Swift for the first time at the Chiefs’ playoff win over the Buffalo Bills last month, where the Philadelphia Eagles center took his shirt off and jumped out of their suite and into the crowd during a wild afternoon.

Swift and Kelce’s relationship has dominated the headlines in recent months and her attendance at his games has become a key piece of NFL broadcasts.

The attention on them will go up another notch this weekend when the eyes of the world descends on Las Vegas for the NFL’s showpiece game.

Jason, who last week was at the NFL’s Pro Bowl in Orlando, admitted that he’s loved getting to know Swift and just wants his brother to be happy.

He said: ‘For us it’s obviously a little bit more. We went out to Disneyworld the other day there’s more people noticing you and stuff like that.

‘You try and act the same and be the same. I know that obviously the attention and amount of people’s focus and media focus is a lot higher but you try not to change or do anything different.

‘My brother and his love life is definitely the topic of the NFL right now and my whole thing with that is if Travis is happy and enjoying life then I’m happy and enjoying life.

‘I’ve been fortunate to meet Taylor now. She’s awesome, a down to earth and genuine person which has been great to see when somebody of that caliber and stardom remains as grounded as she has.’

Kelce will fly to Vegas in the coming days to support his brother.

It’s expected that their parents will also join him and Swift, while it’s unclear whether Jason’s wife Kylie and their children will join the party.

He admitted he’s excited to see two heavyweights battle for the Vince Lombardi trophy.

‘It’s a little bit different obviously, with my brother playing. I just love being a fan of the game and watching great football,’ Jason added.

‘They are two of the pinnacles that the NFL has to offer. Both of these teams have been at the top of their conferences for the last five to six years on both sides and they’ve played each other in this game before.

Reports emerged after the Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs that Kelce told his teammates he’s going to retire.

However, there’s still be no official confirmation and he exclusively told DailyMail.com last week that watching the Chiefs celebrate their win over the Ravens made it hard to end his career.

When asked about cherishing his potentially final Pro Bowl, he said: ‘When you’re towards the end of your career you think more about whether it’s going to be the last one and all that stuff.

‘I’ve been on that for the last two or three years now. You just cherish these moments more, cherish them with your family more, cherish them with the guys more because you know eventually you’re not going to be coming back as a player.

‘It’s a short career that we have the opportunity to come out here and represent the NFL and all of our fans out of Philadelphia, especially, and you learn not to take that for granted the closer it gets to being done.’
