The middle-aged, white woman had the biggest font possible on her phone
LSU loses to SC
LSU Tigers star Flau’Jae Johnson was involved in an altercation late in their loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sunday that resulted with the arrest of her brother. One fan caught a racist, white woman openly texting about the young player’s “thug rapper” father, who died in 2003.
The middle-aged woman had the biggest font possible on her phone, so it was fairly easy to read the conversation, in which she calls Johnson a “thug.” It’s not the first incident of its kind.

This same woman had already called Johnson a “thug” on Facebook and this time included her brother and deceased father.
Those fans who recorded the texts were speaking about it in real time and the woman did not seem to notice their shock at how she expressed herself when it came to a young, successful woman.
You have Kim Mulkey and then you have a class act in @dawnstaley
who made sure to validate and protect Flau’jae while being accountable for her players and their behavior. Bravo Dawn 👏🏾 pic.twitter.com/Rvc83RaiBD— Shirletta J. Kinchen (@DoctahKay) March 10, 2024
South Carolina HC Dawn Staley praises Flau’Jae Johnson
Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley, on the other hand, praised Johnson during her postgame press conference, saying she apologized after the incident.
“I wanna say this. Flau’Jae came to me right after the game and she just apologized and said that she is not that type of player. And I really appreciate that,” Staley said. “That’s something somebody won’t ever hear if I didn’t say anything. She’s a really good person. Things just got escalated. I’ll take responsibility for what happened from our side of it.”
Despite the loss in the conference championship game, LSU will still play in March Madness, and Angel Reese is already focused on leading her team to back-to-back national titles.
