Louis Walsh unleashed a scathing rant at some of his fellow housemates as he told them to ‘shut up’ before criticising Fern Britton.

In a preview clip of Tuesday’s episode, the former X Factor judge, 71, is seen sat in the kitchen with Ekin-Su Culculoglu, 29.

Some of the other housemates including Colson Smith and Bradley Riches are behind them in the living area when a scream is heard.

‘I wish they’d sut up, do you?’ he says to Ekin-Su.

The housemates were split up into a boyband and girl group for the shopping task but Louis considered Fern ‘old’ for the group

Louis says: ‘Just shut up, give us a break! It’s all day every day.’

Sharon Osbourne and Lauren Simon then arrive in the kitchen with Louis mocking the boys’ noise to his former colleague and saying: ‘It’s too much, Sharon.’

Elsewhere during the episode, Louis has some harsh words for Fern as the housemates compete in Big Brother’s new show You’re Gonna Be A Star.

It is then revealed that Marisha will act as Big Brother’s singing coach, whilst Nikita will be choreographer and they will sit on the judging panel alongside Sharon and Louis.

Sharon and Louis are called to the diary room to chat to Big Brother ahead of their judging gig.

When asked who the best people they’ve worked with in the past are, Louis says: ‘Westlife never let me down, they’re still working, they’re always great.’

Looking at Sharon, he says to her ‘Ozzy Osbourne?’ and she agrees: ‘Ozzy of course, Jeff Lynne, brilliant. Oh, Lemmy! Loved, loved Lemmy’

Louis then says: ‘Girls Aloud did great songs, Nadine is a great singer.’

Speaking of the housemates he thinks have the X Factor, Louis lists: ‘Bradley- definitely, Ekin-Su – probably, and Zeze.’

But it appears that Louis doesn’t think all of the housemates have what it takes, revealing of Fern: ‘I don’t think she’s right… for the girl group and she’s older.’ Before adding: ‘We’re gonna put her in the back.’
