Fern Britton has nominated Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu twice for eviction in the Celebrity Big Brother house despite sharing a heart-to-heart with the Love Island star

Celebrity Big Brother fans reckon they’ve worked out why Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Fern Britton aren’t gelling in the house.

Fern, 66, has nominated the Love Island winner, 29, twice for eviction despite sharing a heart-to-heart with the reality star on their first night in front of the cameras. Meanwhile, Ekin-Su has also put the presenter up for the chop, saying Fern made her “feel uneasy”.

The actress told the mum-of-four she only had a couple of friends left after Love Island and would often cry to her mother on the phone after attending a showbiz party. However, the former This Morning host still nominated Ekin-Su and now viewers think they know why. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote, “Fern has clocked Ekin’s tea, she’s interviewed enough people to be able to read authenticity.” Another added: “Fern has worked Ekin Su out, shes a player.”

Someone else agreed, musing: “If anyone has caught onto Ekin it’s Fern. Either Ekin sees her as competition or it’s because Fern sees through her facade.” While a fourth said: “Ekin’s target audience is not right for the personality she prepped for big brother…also thats why she doesn’t like fern cos fern clocked on.”

Giving her reason for nominating Ekin-Su last week, Fern said: “She’s couple of times suggested that I could fit into one of her bikinis and get into the hot tub. There’s no way I’m gonna do that, but she’s asked me two or three times saying: ‘We’re going to do it, we’re going to do it and I’m going to make you over. I’m going to put you in different clothes.’ It scares me, I don’t want to do any of it and I’m not going to do any of it!”

Viewers were left shocked after the pair appeared to have built a friendship in the house. Taking to social media, one asked: “Fern has had really nice chats with Ekin-Su and now she is nominating her?” While another fumed: “Fern how dare you nominate Queen Ekin Su after she vulnerably opened up to you in your heart to heart the other day. Astonishing Treachery!”

But Ekin-Su isn’t holding back either as she told Big Brother exactly what she thought of Fern when she nominated her. Sitting in the Diary Room chair, she said the ex-wife of TV chef, Phil Vickery, was “putting on a performance” and “playing a game” before claiming Fern had been making her feel “uneasy”.

Of course, the actress may not have to put up with her housemate for much longer as Fern risks being booted out of the compeition this evening alongside Louis Walsh, Lauren Simon and Zeze Millz, who are all up for eviction.
