Caitlin Clark presents an amazing gift to a 9-year-old Hawkeyes fan, bringing her home with autographed shoes worn during the game. This isn’t a random coincidence, Caitlin Clark ‘targeted’ her for this special reason.

After Tuesday’s win over Wisconsin, Caitlin Clark decided to take off her shoes and give one fan a memory of a lifetime.

Caitlin removed her game-worn Sabrina 1 sneakers, signed them, and handed them to a little girl waiting behind her. This was no coincidence.

“That girl had my jersey on and it was cute — she was copying our stretching,” Clark said. “She was doing leg swings while we were doing leg swings. She was super happy to be there and she was sitting courtside. Something easy — I can make her day and I’m sure she loved it, so it was cool.”

Clark just wanted to make someone’s day — mission accomplished. Nine-year-old Franny McGuire from Dubuque was shocked.

“Probably the most special thing that has ever happened to me.” Franny McGuire said.

McGuire is a basketball player herself, picking up the sport a few years ago and rocking a similar headband as her favorite player.

“She’s a really good player and I can look up to her so I can try and play like her,” McGuire said. “I thought the headband was really good for basketball and then I noticed Caitlin Clark was wearing it like that.”

Scott McGuire, Franny’s father, took her and two of his other children to the game. His appreciation for Clark only grew after watching her daughter come home with a signed pair of shoes.

“I’ve always had a lot of respect for her,” Scott McGuire said. “Just seeing how generous she was coming over and making Franny’s night as special as it was. Total class act, and couldn’t be more thankful for her taking the time out of her day.”
