Simon Cowell has revealed that he is hoping to become a father for a second time – at the age of 63.
The X Factor judge already has an eight-year-old son, Eric, following an unplanned pregnancy with socialite Lauren Silverman, who was married to one of his friends.
Now the reality TV guru, who got engaged to Miss Silverman, 45, in 2021, has said he is longing for another child to make their family complete.
He told the Mail: ‘Will it happen? I don’t know. But I would love another kid. Being a dad is the best thing that ever happened to me.
‘Literally two days ago I was thinking about this and thinking, “Yeah it would be nice to have another”.’

Simon Cowell has revealed that he is hoping to become a father for a second time – at the age of 63
He added: ‘I love every second I spend with Eric and I really mean that, every second.
‘Those years, when they’re young – I had such an amazing experience. I was thinking, probably because of that, I would like another kid.
‘However I am 64 this year, and Eric’s nine this year and, you know, when I’m playing football with him, my God, I have to get fit just to play with him – in a positive way. His energy is off the chart.’
The Britain’s Got Talent creator also spoke about the appointment of Bruno Tonioli as a judge after comedian David Walliams stepped down from the ITV show.
It emerged in December that Walliams had been recorded referring to an elderly contestant as a ‘c***’ and making other disparaging remarks off air during auditions two years before.

The Britain’s Got Talent creator also spoke about the appointment of Bruno Tonioli as a judge after comedian David Walliams stepped down from the ITV show
Saying that the decision to leave was Walliams’, he added: ‘Those comments are obviously unacceptable. We had a conversation. He owned what he had said. That’s not the ethos of the show. I had not heard [the comments] before the story came out. It is not something I would ever condone.’
Although it was reported that comedian Alan Carr would be his replacement, Cowell said there were no hard feelings over the decision to choose Strictly star Tonioli instead.
‘The show works and I am happy,’ he added. Britain’s Got Talent will be on ITV at 8pm tonight.
