Amanda Holden has claimed “it would be very uncomfortable” for Simon Cowell to remove her from the Britain’s Got Talent panel.
Prior to her judging debut on the ITV talent show 17 years ago, Holden was best recognised for portraying Sarah Trevanian in the drama series Wild at Heart.
These days, she sits alongside Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli as the likes of Viggo Venn and Sydnie Christmas display their incredible skills for a chance to star in the Royal Variety Performance.

During a recent chat with The Sun, Holden mentioned how her and Cowell’s close proximity to each other down in the Cotswolds means that he’d need a strong stomach to give her the sack.
“I see Simon most weekends in the Cotswolds, so it would be very uncomfortable for him,” she said. “My local pub is now their local pub, so often I’ll get a table and the manager will go, ‘Oh, you know your friend Simon is coming in?’, and I’ll go, ‘Oh for God’s sake! OK, let’s just turn it into a table for 10 then.'”

Further along, the TV star explained why she treats each series of BGT like it could be her last.
“That call to say ‘You’ve got a job’, it’s still the most amazing day for me, even 30 years into my career,” admitted Holden. “I never know I’m coming back for BGT. We do not have long contracts, we’re contracted yearly and I’ve never expected it. Simon is not frightened of a change. But there are other ways I earn my money, so I try to go, ‘If I get it again, then great’. I’d be sad but I would wish the next person very well.
“I think I just still have an actor’s mentality that you never know when your next job is, so you make the most of the moment.”
This comes after Sharon Osbourne went nuclear on Holden for comments she’d made concerning her and Louis Walsh’s behaviour on Celebrity Big Brother.
She signed off a lengthy message with: “I hope I’ve given you a proper education about me so that the next time you choose to mention me, you’ll have some facts in your pocket. The bottom line, Amanda, is, that you’ll never be in my league, and you’ve picked on the wrong ugly stepsister.”
