Joe Alwyn Opens Up About Collaborating with Taylor Swift on Songwriting

Being a fan of Taylor Swift during the lockdown was absolutely golden. The singer kept the Swifties mesmerized by dropping albums back to back all while re-recording her old classics. Throughout this process, her ex-beau, Joe Alwyn, stood by her side. In a British GQ interview, the actor shared his experience of journeying alongside her. He revealed,

“It was really the most accidental thing to happen in lockdown,–It wasn’t like, ‘It’s three o’clock, it’s time to write a song!’ It was just messing around on a piano and singing badly and being overheard and then thinking, you know, what if we tried to get to the end of it together?”

Alwyn, who wrote under the pseudonym William Bowery, spoke about why he chose to do so. He said,

“The idea was that people would just listen to the music rather than focus on the fact that we wrote it together.–it was fun to do it together, and I was proud of it. It was nice getting such a positive reception.”

Little did he know that tinkering around with a piano with Taylor Swift would rake in millions for him even after their breakup.
