At 8:45 AM on June 21, SJC gold bar prices remained stable at 74.98 million VND per tael for buying and 76.98 million VND per tael for selling, as maintained by SJC Company. Four state-owned commercial banks, including Vietcombank, Agribank, BIDV, and VietinBank, also held their selling price of SJC gold bars at 76.98 million VND per tael.
Meanwhile, the prices of plain gold rings and 24K gold jewelry continued to rise this morning. SJC Company listed the buying price of gold rings at 74 million VND per tael and the selling price at 75.6 million VND per tael, an increase of 350,000 VND compared to yesterday and more than half a million VND per tael in the past two days.
The increase in gold ring prices follows the upward trend of global gold prices. On the international market, the precious metal was traded at 2,359 USD per ounce this morning, up nearly 30 USD per ounce compared to the previous session. This marks the second consecutive increase for this asset, with a total rise of more than 50 USD per ounce.
The strong rise in global gold prices while SJC gold bar prices remain stable has narrowed the gap. Currently, the world gold price, converted at the listed exchange rate, is about 72.5 million VND per tael, which is 4.4 million VND lower than SJC gold bars and 3.1 million VND lower than gold rings. This is the smallest gap seen in many years.
