This Morning SLAMMED for TRIGGERING PH0BIAS as hosts REC0IL IN FEAR

Craig Doyle and Sian Welby faced their fears during a segment on Thursday’s This Morning but fans weren’t happy

This Morning has been slammed for triggering phobias as even the hosts recoiled in fear.

Thursday’s show saw presenter Craig Doyle and Sian Welby look uncomfortable as they were joined on the show with spiders and a life-like toy. Spider expert Professor James Logan advised on how to spider proof your home while also explaining each type.

Sian and Craig looked to be struggling with the fact that James was calling the creepy crawlies “beautiful”. Craig held up a box with a spider in as he said: “Ok let’s look at it, and try to decide what we like about its face, and not see it as the enemy.”

While James reassured him: “They are not going to harm us at all. They do bite, but they prefer not to.” Sian looked like she was on edge as she said: “Oh its moving, its moving, that lid is on isn’t it?”

Later in the segment, they set off a realistic tarantula toy to move across the floor while Craig threw a conker at it as Sian declared: “I’ve got PTSD from this, can someone get rid of this spider toy please?”

However, many viewers at home weren’t happy with the spiders appearing on TV. Several took to social media to share how they felt. One said: “How to inject more fear into people who already have a phobia to spiders.”

As a second wrote: “I already have a spider phobia, didn’t need to tune in to see clips of spiders making my phobia even more worse.” While another joked: “If a spider that big got in our house then I’d move out and it could pay the rent #ThisMorning,” with one saying: “How many times have they done this segment on how to get rid of spiders etc over the years on #ThisMorning, more rinse & repeat yet again!”

This Morning released a new promo for the show featuring Ben Shephard, Cat Deeley, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary this week. The new advert was to reveal that the four presenters would be returning to the daytime show next month, and saw them on the roof of the Television Centre in West London.

Ben and Cat will be back on screens on Monday, while Alison and Dermot are returning next Friday, September 6. The four of them scaled the 45ft height of the studios in a cherry picker, before arriving on the roof of the building, set up with the iconic This Morning blue sofa.
