Jeff Goldblum threw This Morning into chaos as he burst into song and ended up probing stunned hosts Craig and Sian in the ‘nuttiest ever’ interview.

The Jurassic Park star, 71, appeared on Thursday’s This Morning to promote his new Netflix show based on Greek mythology, called Kaos.

But the interview with the Hollywood star was as quirky as he is, filled with vocal renditions and off-topic chats.

At one point, Jeff turned the interview on its head by instead probing the hosts, congratulating Sian on her baby and gushing over ‘great dad’ Craig.

Amid the chaos, Jeff also spoke about being introduced to Craig’s son Quinn before a sweet moment saw the actor hail him a ‘great young man’ – at which point the Irish presenter got emotional and ran over to hug his offspring.

‘You guys are fantastic I’m so happy to be with you,’ Jeff said as he began to interview the interviewers.

‘You’ve met his (Craig) son Quinn,’ Jeff said to Sian, before adding: ‘What a great man, young man, that is.’

Craig said: ‘Honestly he’s the nicest human being. There’s no point meeting any other human beings after meeting Quinn – but he loves Greek mythology. He’s a Trinity student studying history.’

‘He’s in his fourth year he was telling me,’ Jeff added. ‘He’s studying history, he’s making his dissertation on Irish history. What a great guy.’

Jeff then gestured to the presenting pairing of Craig and Sian, and said: ‘And the two of you are great together. I know you’ve just spent this week together.’

‘What a great dad you are,’ Jeff said to Craig, before turning to Sian and adding: ‘And you just had a baby too, Ruby!

‘Do you know that Thelonias Munk song Ruby My Dear. Look that up, I like it a lot. I love Thalanious Munk. There are other Ruby songs, do you know Kenny Rogers?’

At this point, Jeff began to sing ‘Ruby don’t take your love to town,’ prompting a laugh from Sian.

‘No I don’t know but I will look that up,’ she said, before singing herself as she added: ‘There is a Kaiser Chiefs song that goes “Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby”.

‘And Ruby Tuesday,’ added Craig, at which point both he and Jeff began to sing in unison.

Hearing Craig’s voice, Jeff then said ‘Oh there’s the Irish, go on sing this,’ before bursting into a rendition of O Danny Boy.

Sian was wheezing with laughter as Craig closed his eyes to sing and earnestly began his own rendition of the tune.

Getting the words wrong, both Sian and Jeff then joined in with Craig to finish the song in unison.

‘What is happening? We’ve all joined a cult and we’re very happy,’ Sian laughed.

Later in the interview, the camera zoomed onto Craig’s son Quinn, who was in the studio behind-the-scenes.

Jeff sang an Irish song at the youngster as he quizzed him on his language skills, at which point Craig said: ‘Poor Quinny, this is his worst nightmare!’

Craig added: ‘I ought to hug him, oh baby, I’m so sorry,’ before running over to comfort his son.

‘First day in the studio and he’s met Jeff Goldblum, he’s been embarrassed by dad, I love it!’ Sian proclaimed.

Jeff then ran over to Quinn to give him a hug too.

The moment left Craig emotional, as he asked Sian to continue hosting duties while he collected himself.

‘I feel a bit weepy over the whole Quinn situation, quite emotional,’ Craig said.

‘Are you actually okay?’ Sian asked, before Craig replied: ‘You read all that stuff!’
