Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway was in shock as she realised what had happened to the studio, as it had been transformed into a festive grotto
Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway was left astounded when she walked into the studio on Wednesday to find it completely decked out in Christmas decorations. Upon beginning the show, her co-host Adil Ray enthusiastically shouted: “Merry Christmas!”
Kate was clearly taken aback as she pointed out the timing, arguing that it was still summer and people were enjoying their holidays. The studio echoed with festive tunes while showcasing an area decorated with Christmas trees, cosy cushions, and a fireplace backdrop.
Reacting to the surprise festivity, Kate exclaimed: “What?! They’ve gone crazy!” Adil chimed in: “We are going for it! Come on, we need something to smile about. It’s Christmas Eve!”
Kate commented on Adil’s festive cheerfulness, attributing it to the fact that stores around the country have begun selling Christmas adornments early, reports the Mirror.

The program highlighted the premature appearance of Christmas decorations through various clips. Meanwhile, Kate expressed her disbelief saying: “It’s madness, I mean it’s August.”

Audience members swiftly went on Twitter to weigh in on the discussion over whether it was too soon to embrace the Christmas spirit. One viewer enthused: “Not at all! Christmas is a time of joy! Goodness knows there’s enough misery in the world at the moment, so let’s enjoy the things that bring us joy! ‘Tis the season to be jolly, after all!”
Another chimed in with their early festive prep: “Never too early I’ve just purchased some Christmas present on line this morning for our granddaughters.” In agreement, someone else remarked: “Never too early for Christmas.”
But not everyone shared the excitement. A less than festive tweet read: “Noooooooooooooooooooo! Just no! Christmas? I can’t take this! @SkyNews here I come!”
And yet another critic stated bluntly: “Pathetic and unnecessary, more pressure on people to spend what they haven’t got”.
