Charles Oliveira won the first round of the fight against Arman Tsarukyan, but the Armenian proved too much for the grappling master. Oliveira had some great moments in the fight when he put Tsarukyan under immense pressure. In the first round, Oliveira could put Tsarukyan in a tight guillotine choke, but Tsarukyan, being a champion, came out of the situation unharmed. Oliveira said,

I’m fine. I took a few dots in my eyes. I’m a little swollen, but I also have cried, that’s part of it. It won’t change. Just go back home, devoting myself to training and staying near my family.

Charles Oliveria is taking his loss to Arman like he takes a punch on the chin and moving on. He clarified that he was right after his loss. He has not suffered any significant injury and would love to spend time with his family and return to training. Oliveira is still one of the top contenders in the company and is willing to get back to the title as soon as possible.

With Arman fighting for the title after Dustin Poirier, it’ll be interesting to see if Oliveira will get a title shot soon. Charles Oliveria is still a force to be reckoned with and can choke the lights off anyone in the lightweight division. It will be intriguing to witness how the top of the lightweight division shapes up in the near future in the upcoming months in the UFC.
