Floyd Mayweather has reportedly gifted $30,000 to a group of homeless men prior to being spotted courtside at a Clippers playoff game against the Dallas Mavericks in L.A. amid rumors that he’s ‘stuck in Dubai’ due to a lack of paying back his debts.
The 47-year-old retired boxing champion was leaving the downtown L.A. Ritz-Carlton Hotel to head to Cypto.com Arena for game 5 on Wednesday when he bumped into several men on the street, according to TMZ Sports.
Apparently, that’s when Mayweather began interacting with the guys as he wanted to help them out, so he took out his backpack and ‘blessed each guy with 10 racks.’
‘I don’t want to show my face, but [Floyd] just gave us $30,000,’ Reynolds – one of the homeless men – said after his share of the five-figure sum.
According to TMZ, the guys didn’t want their snaps to go public, as they fear they’d become targets of local crime for carrying the cash.
‘We do not want to get robbed. We will go find a motel,’ one of the men said.
As of 2023, California is home to the largest homeless population in America with data from the U.S. government indicating there are over 180,000 people in the state who don’t have a roof over their heads.
The USA, as a whole, has a population of roughly 650,000 homeless people.
Mayweather, who saw Luca Doncic drop a double-double (35 points and 10 assists) against the Clips in the Mavs’ 123-93 blowout win to take Dallas up 3-2 in the series on Wed. night, has been rumored to being ‘stranded’ in Dubai due to some alleged debts.
That’s according to one of Mayweather’s former mentee’s Gervonta Davis, who seems to be feuding with the 15-time boxing world champion once again. Last year, Davis accused Mayweather of kicking him out of his gym and preventing him from training for his fight against Ryan Garcia.
Last week, Davis took to social media to share a video of Mayweather, which he believes was a dig at him.

Floyd Mayweather has been accused of being stuck in Dubai by former mentee Gervonta Davis
In the clip, Mayweather said: ‘A lot of times what these fighters are looking at – they’re looking Floyd with the cars, they’re looking at Floyd being flashy. Man listen, I made so many sacrifices. Y’all are looking at the end results. And [when I was] champion having hundreds of millions in the bank, I still was on my grind in that gym.
‘Y’all are worried about your outfits, how your boots look, worried about the wrong things. A lot of you fighters are living cheque to cheque.’
Davis, who’s convinced that Mayweather’s comments were about him, fired back on Instagram: ‘N***a says all this bulls***, but [he’s] in Dubai and can’t leave because he’s been taking n***as’ money and not doing what they paid him to do. N***a a f***ing hater.’
On X a fan tweeted to Davis: ‘Let me find out Floyd being held hostage in Dubai.’
To which Davis replied: ‘He gotta pay people that money back. If I’m lying tell him to go live right now. He’s been stuck over there for a minute too.’
Mayweather proceed to hit back at Davis by posting video mocking the three weight class champion, as he attempt to humiliate him.
Davis then challenged Mayweather to a fight, insisted he’d KO the undefeated boxer: ‘Now I f*** around and knock Floyd out when I see him and I’ll care about going back to jail. He’s such a b***h.’
In reply, Mayweather shared a video of Tank’s rival Shakur Stevenson calling him out.
On Thursday, Mayweather shared several snaps of himself and his surrounding back in Dubai on his Instagram Story after the Clippers-Mavs game on Wed. His exact whereabouts are unclear.
