BBC Breakfast presenters were left blindsided as the programme’s live cameras started to roll early while Luxmy Gopal was still getting ready to go on air.
During Friday’s show, the broadcaster and her co-presenter Charlie Stayt were far from ready to go live as Luxmy was seen still having her hair finished by her stylist.
As the live cameras panned to the London studios at 5.56am, Charlie was still in the middle of adjusting his trousers and fixing his belt.
Trying to get the 6am show started, Charlie jumped in: ‘Good morning and welcome to BBC Breakfast with Luxmy Gopal and Charlie Stayt.’
Luxmy, who was still having her hair teased by her hairdresser, seemed unphased and added: ‘The headlines today….’ before a clip of the headlines starting with the US Presidential elections was streamed to viewers.
