Stephen Curry Puts Up 33 Points as Warriors Secure 4th Consecutive Win, Defeating Wembanyama and the Spurs
Curry Leads Warriors to Victory Over Undermanned Spurs
Stephen Curry’s stellar performance propelled the Golden State Warriors to a hard-fought 117-113 victory over the undermanned San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night, securing their fourth consecutive win.
With his family in attendance to celebrate Easter, Curry delivered a standout performance, contributing 33 points to help the Warriors overcome a sluggish start and finish their road trip with a 4-1 record.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised Curry’s resilience and determination, highlighting his ability to rise to the occasion despite facing defensive pressure from San Antonio’s Tre Jones.
Curry’s offensive prowess was on full display as he shot 12 for 23 from the field, including hitting 7 of 15 attempts from beyond the arc.
His exceptional performance proved crucial for the Warriors, who are currently clinging to the final play-in spot in the competitive Western Conference.
Despite Curry’s heroics, Spurs center Victor Wembanyama showcased his talent with an impressive display, tallying 32 points and nine rebounds.
Warriors forward Draymond Green commended Wembanyama’s skills, recognizing him as a “very special talent” with a promising future in the league.
Green himself played a pivotal role in the Warriors’ victory, contributing 21 points and 11 rebounds while delivering a defensive masterpiece, according to Kerr.
San Antonio put up a resilient fight despite missing several key players due to injuries. Led by Cedi Osman, Zach Collins, and Sandro Mamukelashvili, the Spurs’ bench stepped up admirably in the absence of their top scorers.
The Warriors, however, seized control in the second half, mounting a decisive 14-0 run to take the lead and ultimately secure the win.
With the victory, the Warriors look ahead to their matchup against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, aiming to maintain their winning streak.
Meanwhile, the Spurs will face a tough challenge against the Denver Nuggets on the same night as they seek to bounce back from the loss.
As the regular season draws to a close, both teams remain focused on finishing strong and securing their positions in the postseason race.
