Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark is a phenomenon unlike any other.
As her senior season winds down, another one-of-one phenomenon has put Clark’s greatness into perspective.
During an appearance on CBS Mornings, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry spoke at length about Clark, who was recently crowned as the all-time leading scorer in men’s and women’s Division I basketball.
Like Curry, Clark is known for her otherworldly 3-point shooting, but Curry recognizes that she is much more than that.
“I’ve been watching from afar and understanding just how much of a power she is out there on the court,” Curry told CBS’ Jericka Duncan.
“The cool part is the way that she plays and her range and the level of difficulty on her shots is obviously a very close comparison to the way that I play, but I think it almost robs her of, like, the rest of her game because she has an overall floor game, she’s racking up close to triple-doubles every night.
“Her shooting ability is her superpower, but the rest of her game is as polished as that.”

When the greatest shooter of all time refers to shooting as someone’s superpower, it must be true.
Curry is one of the 75 greatest players to ever play the game and his assessment of Clark’s all-around game is also extremely accurate. As good of a shooter as Clark is, she may be an even better passer.
This season, Clark leads the country in scoring and assists with averages of 31.9 points and 8.9 assists per game. In addition to her NCAA-leading marks, Clark averages 7.3 rebounds per game and has recorded six triple-doubles through 33 games as a senior.
Clark’s nightly performances have dominated basketball discourse, Iowa women’s games are guaranteed sellouts and broadcasts of Clark in action continue to shatter viewership records.
Curry recognizes the Clark effect, too.
“It’s must-see TV. I love what it has done for women’s basketball in terms of she shows up, the seats are filled and there’s a different energy.”
After leading Iowa to its third consecutive Big Ten tournament title, Clark will look to lead her Hawkeyes team to their first-ever NCAA title before she takes her superpowers to the WNBA as the presumptive No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft.
