On Friday night the LSU Tigers staved off an upset bid from 14-seed Rice with a 70-60 victory to keep their bid for back-to-back titles alive.
Following a slow first half, LSU held just a three point lead heading into the third quarter.
However, the Tigers pulled away with a 23-15 third quarter that gave the team an 11-point advantage heading into the final quarter.
It was in that fourth quarter where a viral moment occurred.
With just 28 seconds left in the game, Rice guard Hailey Adams waved her hand in front of her face.
Cameras immediately panned to LSU star Angel Reese, who famously – or infamously depending on who you are – did the same taunting move to Caitlin Clark in last year’s title game.
Some fans think Adams was trying to troll Reese, despite the inevitable loss.
“Waving the U Can’t See Me @Reese10Angel and You Lost Is Outrageously Wild…” one fan claimed.

While the broadcast makes it look like Adams was trolling Reese, that’s probably not what’s happening here. Other fans stepped in to share what really happened.
“Look at the time left… she’s looking at the bench. They’re calling to face guard the inbounds. You can tell the ‘fans’ without knowledge of the game,” one person said.
“She’s signaling for a play from the sideline. I knew that when I saw it during the game. Calm down, not everyone is trolling Angel Reese,” offered another.
