BBC Breakfast star Rachel Burden was less than impressed with co-host Charlie Stayt joking about her age.
BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt put his foot in it when he made a cheeky dig at Rachel Burden, regarding her age.
The hosts were once again reunited on the iconic red sofa this morning, with talk turning to an upcoming musical based on the Now That’s What I Call Music albums.
But it didn’t take too long before the presenter made a tongue-and-cheek joke at Rachel’s expense.
Charlie, 62, introduced the item, explaining: “So you might remember the first album you ever bought, can you remember which Now That’s What I Call Music you got?”
She replied: “No chance. I think it’s in the early numbers”, with him then asking: “What? One?”
BBC Breakfast’s Rachel exclaimed as co-host Charlie made the dig Rachel’s eyes bulged at the dig as she exclaimed: “No! Not one!” with the star’s body language then changing, shifting further away from Charlie.
The 55-year-old continued: “Maybe eight, nine, I don’t know. I’m not going to go there.”
Charlie went on to talk about the musical: “Compilation albums, in case you don’t know, 40 years of compilation albums and a new musical has been developed featuring some of the biggest hits from the 1980s, do you remember those?”
She was quick to reply with a small smile: “Yes. Vaguely.”
BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt made a joke about his co-host’s age.
