This Morning fans have slammed host Josie Gibson for ‘staring into space’ and ‘tuning out’ during the news segment of the show, joking that she was ‘playing Candy Crush’ on her iPad.

During todays instalment of the ITV breakfast programme, the 39-year-old presenter was noticeably silent at multiple points throughout the show, which prompted worried fans to question whether she was okay.

Each morning, the hosts run through the top trending stories of the day and discuss what’s going on in the news.

Today Rylan Clark, 35, and Josie were joined by Nick Ferrari, 65, and Sonia Sodha, 43 – but viewers noticed Josie wasn’t joining in much with the conversation.

Confused, they took to X (formerly Twitter) to point out her silence and joke about the situation, writing: ‘Josie’s totally checked out #ThisMorning.’

‘Josie only pipes up when out of all the news it’s the #SpiceGirls #ThisMorning.’

‘Josie stifling a yawn when speaking to Ferrari. She also looks down and very fed up. Not very happy today is she? #ThisMorning.’

‘It’s really odd the way Josie sits there staring at Nick and Sonia while Rylan speaks. Does she fancy one of them? #ThisMorning’

‘Josie doesn’t really speak does she? Just sits there nodding her head #ThisMorning’

‘Josie playing Candy Crush on the iPad #ThisMorning.’

‘Is Josie ok? as she seems to be just staring into space when she thinks the cameras are not on her and she’s very quiet? I hope all is ok #ThisMorning.’

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the show, ITV viewers also took to social media to criticize today’s fashion segment of the programme, slamming the outfits as ‘plain awful’.

The daily portion of the show sees models flaunt a variety of High Street outfits that viewers can get their hands on.

However, fans of today’s show were left disappointed by the ‘unflattering’ clothing on display.

They took to social media to complain, quipping: ‘#ThisMorning’s fashion segments are frequently ‘let’s send a runner over to Westfield and see what they can buy during an ad break.’

‘That jumper looks like they’ve literally chucked it on her before pushing get out on to the catwalk #thismorning.’

‘What’s with the red sweater draped over a leopard print dress? It just looks out of place #thismorning.’

‘That outfit is just plain awful #ThisMorning.’

‘I never thought their fashion segments would get any worse, today is an exception #ThisMorning.’

‘Maybe next time, don’t wear your PJs when hosting a fashion segment #ThisMorning.’

‘Has this fashion woman just got out of bed? #thismorning.’

The ruthless social media comments come just after the show sparked outrage with a ‘patronising’ and ‘useless’ money-saving segment, as ITV fans claimed they were being ‘lectured by millionaires’.

On Monday’s show, hosts Rylan and Josie were joined by consumer editor Alice Beer, 59, who shared her advice on how to save £1,500 in a year.

Her suggestions, which left viewers unimpressed, included tips like shopping at cheaper supermarkets and saving pennies in a jar.

She advised those struggling with money to do the ‘Penny A Day’ project, which involves putting aside 1p more every day, beginning with just a penny. The expert said it should see you save more than £600 a year.

The consumer editor also suggested cutting out takeaway coffees and sharing memberships and streaming services with friends and family members.
