ITV presenter Rylan Clark opened up about falling sick after his devastating split from ex-husband Dan Neal.
Rob Rinder and Rylan Clark became emotional as they opened up about their love lives on the first episode of their travel show.
The TV stars have joined forces to travel around Italy for their programme Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour.
Rylan, 35, opened up to Rob, 45, about his marriage breakdown to ex Dan Neal, and how he became ill in the aftermath.
He admitted he “tried to end it” which left his mum distraught.
This Morning star Rylan told Rob as they enjoyed a drink in sunny Venice: “I think it was a culmination of my marriage breaking down and actually me stopping for the first time in 10 years.
Rylan opened up to pal Rob Rinder about his heartache.
“Then, all of a sudden, I hit quite a big speed bump instead of carrying on, I just sunk. It was the worst experience of my life. I just went on a downward spiral. I tried to end it, I tried to finish myself off.”
He went on: “I didn’t eat, I went down to 9st. I’m 6ft 4 Rob, like I looked horrendous.”
Speaking about his mum, Rylan added: “She was a 70-year-old woman and she had to watch her ‘successful’ son literally disintegrate.”
Rylan said: “Do you know what, Rob? We’re here once; we’ve been through quite a lot of [bleep]. Nothing is forever, unless it’s right.”
Rob was then seen appearing to wipe away tears as they cheered their drinks.
Rylan pictured with his ex in happier times. Rylan and his ex-husband Dan split in 2021 following six years of marriage and the star was forced to take time out from work to look after his mental health.
The pair met on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side which Rylan was hosting in 2013. They became engaged the following year in 2014 during a romantic trip to Paris.
Rylan tweeted the happy news at the time: ‘Pleased to say we’re engaged. Thank you for all your lovely messages. Myself and @DanNealOfficial are very happy xxx.’
They eventually married in a small, private ceremony surrounded by close friends and family, with a guest list including Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes as well as Claire Richards from Steps and Katie Price.
