EXCLUSIVE Alison Hammond POCKETS a huge SIX-FIGURE sum as she finally sells her Birmingham home – after REVEALING she was so CASH-STRAPPED in her early fame that she couldn’t pay her MORTGAGE

This Morning star Alison Hammond has pocketed nearly £120,000 after selling her home – just days after revealing she was so cash-strapped in her early fame that she couldn’t pay her mortgage.

The much-loved TV presenter finally sold her house in Solihull, West Midlands, for £700,000 last month after three previous attempts to sell it had fallen through.

Her estate agent said she was ‘delighted’ that a sale had now completed.

She had already moved out of the property – where she had lived for nearly four years with son Aiden – into her new countryside ‘dream home.’

The daytime TV legend shared a glimpse of her latest pad with her Instagram followers in April, showing off sprawling wooded gardens and a stunning white living room with sleek marble furnishings

She posted: ‘Feeling very emotional knowing that without all your support and love I wouldn’t be looking at this view!

‘This is my new garden I would draw as a child but never dreamed it would be a reality. Thank you. Wish Mum was here to see it.’

Proud Brummie Alison, 49, is understood to have moved to the outskirts of London to be nearer work.

Alison had bought her detached house near Birmingham, tucked away behind iron gates, for £582,500 in January 2020.

She put it on the market a year ago but had struggled to sell it.

A source at Smart Homes said: ‘The sale has just completed in the past few weeks. The celebrity owner is delighted.

‘The house was originally on for £745,000 which was over value. The price was dropped and it nearly sold three times but never completed because of vendors’ chains falling through.

‘It has finally completed just shy of the new asking price of £700,000 and is now off the market.’

The popular presenter had given viewers, and show hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, a tour of that house, complete with hot tub in the garden, where she was holed up with her son, then aged 15, during the coronavirus in April 2020.

She first put it on the market in 2023.

In a recent interview with the Guardian the star revealed she was so broke in her early fame that she couldn’t pay her mortgage.

The former holiday rep found fame in 2002 after appearing on Big Brother before taking on small presenting roles on This Morning to support herself and her son.

She admitted: ‘There was a time when I couldn’t pay my mortgage, and I was really famous.’

The star took to social media to reveal that the romantic comedy novel Bombshell will hit bookshelves on November 7.

The story follows a character named Madison who has given up her own dreams to support her television heartthrob husband’s career.

The novel may be an insight into her own relationships.

Alison began dating Russian masseur David Putman, 26, after she booked him for a £150 massage and the pair reportedly hit it off and she is said to be ‘happier than ever.’
